Request for Financial Support for Non-Invasive Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVI)

My name is Konstantina Vavasis and I am addressing with seriousness and transparency to anyone who has the ability and willingness to support our family's effort to ensure the life of my mother.

My mother suffers from severe aortic valve stenosis. This is a degenerative cardiac condition that causes reduced blood flow from the heart to the rest of the body and can lead to heart attacks, shortness of breath, angina and, in advanced stages, heart failure or sudden death.

According to the opinion of the interventional cardiologist and the medical team monitoring her, transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVI - Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation) is indicated. This method is non-invasive, does not require open heart surgery and is indicated for patients at high surgical risk, such as my mother, due to her age and associated health problems.

The cost of the procedure (medical equipment, valve, hospitalisation, use of a haemodynamic laboratory) exceeds EUR 20 000 and is unfortunately not fully covered by the EOPYY or public hospitals, but only partially. We have already turned to public facilities, but the waiting time is too long and her health is deteriorating daily.

For this reason, we are seeking the support of private individuals and institutions in order to raise the necessary amount to proceed immediately to carry out the operation in a specialised centre.
