Hello, my name is Mara Ferreira and I'm Filipe Ferreira's mum.

Filipe Ferreira, (known affectionately as "Pipinho"), is 18 years old and was born asphyxiated with two turns of the umbilical cord wrapped around his neck. At just three years old, he was diagnosed with Norrie Syndrome.

Filipe can't see, can't speak and can't walk.

In 2012, Filipe went for a medical assessment in Cuba, at the Ciren clinic.

This assessment ensured that Filipe had all the necessary abilities to speak and walk.

After all the work done over the years, both in physical rehabilitation and cognitive stimulation, we believe that Filipe is ready for an intensive three-month treatment at the Ciren clinic in Cuba.

We believe and have faith that, with this rehabilitation treatment, Filipe will walk from Cuba.

Hope is what drives us and faith makes us believe in a better tomorrow.
