Description
Hello, my name is Mara Ferreira and I am Filipe Ferreira’s mother.
Filipe
Filipe Ferreira (affectionately known as ‘Pipinho’) is 18 years old and was born in asphyxia with the umbilical cord wrapped twice around his neck; at just three years old, he was diagnosed with Norrie syndrome.
Filipe cannot see, speak or walk.
In 2012, Filipe underwent a medical assessment in Cuba, at the Ciren clinic.
During this assessment, it was confirmed that Filipe had all the necessary abilities to be able to speak and walk.
After all the work done over the years, both in physical rehabilitation and cognitive stimulation, we believe that Filipe is ready for a three-month intensive treatment programme at the Ciren clinic in Cuba.
We believe and have faith that, with this rehabilitation treatment, Filipe will return from Cuba walking.
Hope is what drives us, and faith makes us believe in a better tomorrow.
We are asking for your help in making our dream of seeing Filipe walk a reality.
