Hello, my name is Pierre Dumoret, and I've set up this fundraising campaign to give myself the opportunity to embark on the adventure of a lifetime and go to Ukraine to do voluntary work to help the victims of the war. The association I contacted is one that helps victims who have lost their homes, by building new homes and helping to rehabilitate people physically affected by the bombings. Moveukraine was set up over 20 years ago, and works in active collaboration with all the organisations and associations on the ground. After getting in touch with the director of Moveukraine, I was able to start organising my project and find out what job opportunities were open to me. Given the situation in the country, all 'branches' of society are in need of manpower and resources. Between children without schooling or support, abandoned pets, physical or psychological victims of war, the choice is wide... Before anything else, so that you can fully understand my approach for those who are still here, I'd like to explain the reasons behind this project in just a few words. First of all, to go on an adventure under the fire of bombs to help or even, if possible, save lives - it's a dream I'd like to give myself! But I'd also like to see a bit of the world and change jobs after more than 12 years in logistics and construction. I'd like to do something that I love in my life, even if it means taking risks. I started saving money 2 months ago to reach a minimum of 1,200 euros by the end of August to at least be able to stay for 3 months, given that the cost of living in Ukraine is much cheaper than in France. This would allow me to live on the bare necessities because you understand that it's not for comfort that I'm going to eastern Ukraine! 🙂 So for you to understand the extent of your help, this fundraising would allow me to stay longer on site, but also to contribute on site to the essential needs of the victims..I pledge to pay all funds collected exceeding the 1,200 euro mark to the Moveukraine association....
