Description
February 24, 2022 their world collapsed !
War and children - these words should never go hand in hand! Peace and sense of security, so obvious and so certain so far, are now receding and disappearing behind black clouds. The children from Ukraine have been facing the horror of life-threatening situations for over 2 years. They are experiencing traumas that will surely sear a lasting mark in their memories. On the day Russia attacked our neighbours, hundreds of thousands of children were forced to flee immediately. Plenty of them, especially those from orphanages, faced not only a loss of security, but also a well-known feeling of abandonment.
Happy Kids Foundation is still taking care of the children, trying to provide them with the necessary help and support. After the outbreak of the war, Happy Kids evacuated 1,500 children from orphanages along with their caregivers. During first months of the war every child received a roof over their heads, warm meals and access to education and medical care. What they need most now is psychological and psychiatric support. Lack of contact with families, often the loss of them, the uncertainty of tomorrow - these are the traumas they need to deal with. That's why it's of utmost importance to provide them with the assistance of professionals who will be able to help them go through these difficult experiences and regain their emotional balance.
Although the war has become part of the rhythm of everyday life, Ukrainian children still need our support.
Happy Kids Foundation was set up in 2001, with Public Benefit Organization’s status since 2004. Our mission is to provide equal opportunities for every child to achieve their goals in life, now and in the future.
Our vision is the world with every child having the rights enshrined in the Declaration of the Rights of the Child and other international standards that treat the child as a subject to human rights.
During 20 years we set up 18 family-based foster homes with 150 children aboard. Happy Kids actively supports foster parenting and public institutions in the process of deinstitutionalization.
Let’s do it!
We have created a project to provide psychological support to the Ukrainian children, who have found their safety place in Poland. Its goal is to facilitate the access to specialists, the number of which is truly limited in Poland and cost of an appointment truly challenging.
Therefore, we are approaching you about your financial support that allows us to continue our work and provide the children with adequate care. Every zloty is a step towards a better future for the youngest victims of the conflict.
Thank you for your support!
