Baba z Wrzeszcza is a social innovation that rescues textile treasures from the past. Every day, we help save fabrics, sewing machines, yarns and other haberdashery materials from oblivion, collecting them from people for whom they are equally important, yet who will no longer be able to use these resources themselves. Our donors are mostly other craftspeople who want to clear out their space, or families sorting through the belongings of loved ones who have passed away...

What do we do with these treasures? We pass them on for a good cause and into good hands. Your treasures find their way to occupational therapy workshops, to community centres and neighbourhood clubs, and to school sewing workshops. We put them to use, all so that this potential no longer lies idle, but can instead support non-commercial, voluntary, charitable and educational activities.

Babowóz is our trusted volunteer, indispensable to this mission. Thanks to the cart, we can transport sewing machines, tonnes of fabric, sacks of yarn and haberdashery received from elderly ladies who are unable to deliver them themselves. It is thanks to Babowóz that we can carry out the mission of Baba z Wrzeszcza.

We will allocatethe proceeds from the campaign to repairing Babowóz, which supports us every day in rescuing fabrics, yarns and handicraft tools from the attics and wardrobes of our mums, grandmothers and aunts, saving them from the rubbish tip. Help us move forward and continue this mission – saving forgotten treasures and giving them a new lease of life, so they can find a new home in someone’s happy wardrobe.

The products you can purchase in the Ruszyć Dalej! campaign are more than just clothes – they are art, minimalism and attention to every detail. Our designs, inspired by the atmosphere of Gdańsk Wrzeszcz, are sewn in the Wrzeszcz-based SUM SUMUS MUS tailor’s workshop in the spirit of Slow Fashion, using Vintage Fabrics saved from oblivion. Every seam, every stitch is a testament to the utmost care and respect for materials that have stood the test of time.

Sewn in the spirit of Slow Fashion – what does that mean? Our designs are created with respect for the materials, their unique histories, and with attention to every detail. We believe that fashion can be both beautiful and responsible, and above all, serve us for years to come.

Vintage fabrics are materials with a soul, which remember times before the era of fast living and fast fashion. Every fabric is a unique piece of history, which we are now bringing back to the streets of Wrzeszcz and beyond.

Attention to every detail – for us, this is an expression of respect for the material, which deserves a second life. We create clothes with a love of minimalism, respect for resources and a passion for traditional craftsmanship.

Please note! The waiting time for products is approximately 1 month, which is due to the nature of our campaign – we make every garment to order, starting production only after receiving the funds.

Who are we? Three Babas: Martyna, Marylka and Hanna. Each of us comes from a different place, but it is in Wrzeszcz that we have settled for the long term. We were brought together by our love for this place, a passion for creation, and a concern for what is being lost along with the older ladies – their handicraft skills, resources gathered over the years, and precious memories. Baba z Wrzeszcza is not just a brand – it is a story of the intertwining of history, people and places that inspire us every day.
