I am a person in need for a wheelchair. I attend college and I am 20 years old. I just found out I might have or I am at risk of developing chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculopathy or CIDP or something similar, which is a disorder that affects the nerves, causing weakness and loss of sensation, most often in the arms and legs. CIDP is considered an autoimmune condition, in which the immune system reacts against the body's own myelin, the sheath that insulates nerves and allows them to function. My problem is worse when it comes to my legs and walking long distances (which means more than 200 meters), therefore I need a wheelchair, but I can't afford it. My parents kicked me out of my old home and I am very depressed already, I do have a person I live with but they don't give me enough money, just for good and hygiene supplies. I can take care of myself, I just can't walk that well, especially long distances. I am not eligible for a free wheelchair since my condition isn't that severe and I do not qualify for social support at the moment.
