Description
A letter of distress
I am writing to you today with everything I have: my sincerity, my exhaustion, but also my hope.
A few weeks ago, I was the victim of a violent attack. I have a fractured hip socket and am off work for 90 days. Since then, everything has become complicated. I am currently living with my ex-partner, in a difficult and unstable situation. I have no home of my own, no income, barely 750 euros, and no security. Every day is a struggle; I’m in a wheelchair and nothing is adapted for me. I’m writing this letter as a last-ditch plea for help, because I need assistance.
Despite all this, I remain strong and keep the faith. I am a caring person, always looking out for others, with a heart full of plans. I dream of a gentler, fairer life. I want to rebuild, bounce back, and provide a more stable future for my daughter and myself. But on my own, I can’t manage it anymore.
I need support, a helping hand, however small. Financial or practical help, a kind word, a helping hand… something to help me catch my breath a little, to lay the foundations for a new life. It’s not easy to write these words, but it’s necessary.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I hope, with all my heart, that these words will touch someone.
With all my respect
