Oasis of Awareness is a short fiction film about how easy it is to get lost – in relationships, in life, in a screen-filled world – and how (sometimes in the most unexpected way) we can find our way back to ourselves and to others.

Imagine a couple stuck in routine, where scrolling through their phones has replaced actual conversation. One day, their friends surprise them with a trip to... a self-development retreat called “Oasis of Awareness.” Here – without phones or social media – they enter a world where nothing is what it seems. An encounter with a group of colorful characters and a charismatic workshop leader becomes the start of a true revolution in their lives. This is a story about ordinary people who have to push past their inner resistance to understand what truly matters. A little laughter, a few emotional moments, and a lot of hope – that each of us can find our way back to connection, even if it takes a little madness.

– Because we’re telling a story that resonates with everyone: loneliness in a crowd, the need for closeness, self-acceptance, and the acceptance of others.

– Because it’s a film with strong, vibrant characters you can’t help but root for.

– Because we combine light-hearted comedy with emotional depth – without preaching.

– Because we’re shooting in Poland, with Polish creators, in one location, with a compact team – every euro goes straight onto the screen.

– Because we want Oasis of Awareness to be the beginning of something bigger: a feature film, workshops, events, inspiring initiatives, and education.

The funds we collect will allow us to launch the production – that is, to cover the essential costs needed to actually start filming.

We need funding for:

– location rental

– set design and preparation

– basic crew and equipment

– organizing the shoot

– and at least symbolic compensation for the dedicated people involved.

This is an independent film, born from the heart and from a passion for telling real stories.

We’re not part of a major film industry machine – but we do have experience, awards, and a ton of motivation.

With your help, we can turn this idea into a finished film and bring it to audiences in Poland and beyond – through festivals, screenings, and online platforms.

ANNA PŁOCINICZAK – actress, screenwriter

An actress, journalist, and screenwriter. She holds a law degree from Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, studied acting at the Cracow School of Art and vocal performance at the Jerzy Wasowski Music School in Warsaw. She also studied at the Warsaw Film School and completed a screenwriting course at Bahama Films, where she was recognized for her short film script “The Energy of Money.” She has trained through numerous masterclasses and workshops with renowned teachers from Poland, the USA, Brazil, the UK, and Italy. She has over 30 film and TV roles to her credit, working with directors including Mateusz Rakowicz, Olga Chajdas, Patryk Vega, Mariusz Palej, and Łukasz Kośmicki.

DARIUSZ GABRYELEWICZ – producer

A film and theatre producer. From 1999 to 2018, he was professionally associated with the Ochota Theatre. He worked with Malachitowa Studio on television productions (TVP, TVN) and with the Fenoma agency on film, advertising, and live events. He co-produced and directed the musical Cinderella featuring M. Carillon and J. Wocial. From 2017 to 2021, he worked for an international corporation, overseeing market analysis and sales development in Central and Eastern Europe. He was executive producer and co-writer of the fan film Half a Century of Poetry Later, which reached over 2 million views on YouTube at its peak. He also produced the short film Whispers (Warsaw Film School), the award-winning Intersection (15+ international awards), and served as executive producer of the Polish-Italian-Albanian co-production Leaving Eden (dir. Genc Permeti), featuring Kristaq Pilo, Daniel Olbrychski, and Agata Buzek.
