Description
The members of the ÖV – Volunteer Forest and Wildlife Protection Group work every day to protect our natural heritage:
rescuing injured and distressed wildlife,
clearing up illegal rubbish dumps,
restoring habitats,
patrolling and monitoring the countryside,
documenting damage to the natural environment.
We do all this on a voluntary basis, in our own time and often using our own equipment.
Our biggest limitation at the moment is the lack of a suitable vehicle. We are often unable to reach animals in distress or reported waste sites in time because passenger cars cannot cope with forest tracks.
That is why we are now raising funds for a reliable off-road vehicle, which will enable us to:
safely reach every section of the forest,
transport waste,
respond quickly to emergencies,
transport more volunteers and equipment at the same time.
