Project: La Maison de la Parole – In memory of Mohamed

Introduction

In 2022, my brother Momo was murdered. His tragic passing left a deep wound in my life and in the lives of all those who loved him. In this moment of loss, a conviction was born: to transform pain into action, and silence into words.

I wish to buy the house where my brother lived and turn it into a place of welcome, dialogue and remembrance dedicated to the families and loved ones of victims of murder or homicide. This place will be called La Maison de la Parole.

Project objectives

• 🔹 To create a space offering support and a listening ear for people facing the sudden loss of a loved one as a result of a criminal act.
• 🔹 To provide a place of living memory, where people’s journeys, their pain, but also their paths to recovery can be shared.
• 🔹 To break the silence surrounding the trauma associated with murders and homicides, which is all too often experienced in isolation and misunderstanding.
• 🔹 To encourage dialogue with professionals (psychologists, lawyers, social workers) as well as between people who have experienced similar hardships.

Why this house?

This house is steeped in history, memories, but also unspeakable pain. Turning it into a welcoming space is a way of giving it new meaning. It is not a static sanctuary, but a living space: a place where words flow freely, where one can cry, rebuild one’s life, and sometimes even find hope.

A civic and humanitarian initiative

This project is part of a broader effort to raise public awareness of the realities faced by victims of lethal violence and their families. It aims to create a space outside the legal system, where recognition of suffering begins with the human experience.

Call for support

To make this dream a reality, I am appealing to all individuals, institutions or organisations sympathetic to this cause. The purchase of the house, its renovation and the creation of a welcoming space require significant resources. Every contribution, whether material, moral or financial, is a step towards bringing this unique place to life.

Conclusion

La Maison de la Parole will be a place for those who are not heard. For those whose voices remain buried in pain. To keep my brother’s memory alive, and to give meaning to the senseless.
