My Lebanese work colleague has just arrived from Lebanon with his pregnant wife. He immediately tried to find a job and got one.

However, due to the current economic crisis in the automotive sector, he has lost his job, like many others. Unfortunately, he doesn't get any money from the authorities because he hasn't paid in long enough.

He has already found a new job, but he can only start there on 1 March 2025.

In addition, his tenancy agreement expires and he has to find a new flat.

The money is to be used as a bridging allowance so that he doesn't end up on the street with his family. He is currently working without being registered so that he can afford food for his wife and child. However, we want to prevent this because the penalties if he is caught are much higher and more expensive.

The money will be used as follows:

3000€ deposit for the new flat

2000€ for second-hand furniture

5x2000€ to buy food for 3 people (2 adults and a small child) and to pay the rent until the first pay slip arrives from the new company.

We do not expect large donations, but are grateful for every single cent.

We also don't want to be tearful and write here what awaits him in Beirut, because everyone sees and knows the pictures from the news. Our idea is that 15,000 people donate 1€, which they might find under the couch or in the car under the seat. :)
