Szidy is a 36-year-old mother who has been fighting multiple sclerosis, a disease that was triggered after the birth of her long-awaited child. She has a 5-year-old son, who is her greatest motivation, yet the illness has taken away the most basic things from her life: the ability to walk, her independence, and the joy of fully experiencing motherhood.

For the past three years, Szidy has been bedridden and dependent on a wheelchair. She has undergone all possible medical treatments available in Romania, but unfortunately without the results she hoped for. Her only real chance to walk again and regain part of her life is a stem cell transplant, which can be performed in Turkey.

This treatment gives her hope — hope that she may one day get out of bed, hold her child’s hand, walk beside him, and live the simple moments every mother dreams of. Sadly, the costs of this procedure are far beyond her family’s financial means.
