A 67-year-old who has recently retired, living on €730 a month, but who has been through a long and complicated journey due to health issues, having undergone three operations in the last five years, themost recent and the one that affected me the most, as it caused me to lose my job. For quite some time, I managed to get by thanks to the small amount of money I received from ADI, but when my pension came through, that benefit ceased. However, this situation meant I was unable to pay my rent for quite some time, to the point of facing eviction proceedings. But what worries me most afraid is that, with the pension I receive today, it is impossible to cover the cost of finding a studio flat because, between the deposit and the rent, €1,000 would not be enough. Unfortunately, neither social services nor anyone else is helping me because it seems that single people are worth nothing in this society. What’s more, sadly for me, simply because I have no one left alive, this fundraising would help me tackle the search for a new home. Naturally, I don’t think it would be the solution to my problems, because first and foremost I need to find a better balance for my health in order to hope to find a part-time job that will help me survive, but it would be a significant help in dealing with the situation with a little more peace of mind.
