My name is Noémie and I'm a final-year midwifery student in Belgium. Thanks to my school, I have the opportunity to go and work for 1 month in an association (AMARE) on the Ile de la Ruénion, as a volunteer, to do health education with young women, even teenagers, who are pregnant or have already given birth, on the menstrual cycle, contraception and breastfeeding/artificial feeding.

As a future health professional working in the field of pregnancy, this project is very close to my heart, to help women who don't have all the resources they need to move forward and protect themselves under the right conditions. Some of them didn't choose to become pregnant but had no choice but to keep the child, often for financial reasons, because of a lack of access to healthcare or simply because they didn't know the symptoms of pregnancy at their young age.

These funds will enable me, in the first instance, to buy material for my presentations/activities and will help me to pay for part of my accommodation with the bare minimum.
