I’ve been competing at the highest level for many years, I’ve won numerous world titles, and yet I’ve never had – nor do I have – anyone to support me. For the last 15 years I’ve been struggling to make it on my own; I don’t have a team, as top athletes should have. I often suffer injuries but find it difficult to see a doctor. When I go to competitions, I don’t have a coach or trainer to come with me to the corner, so I end up asking for help from whoever can assist me in the country I’m visiting, or I ask a friend to come along. I’ve been living in Thailand for the last five years and I’m struggling to make ends meet. In 10 days’ time I’m going to America to play in a major tournament and once again I’ve asked a friend to come along.

I’d like to use the money I raise so that, when necessary, I can pay for a doctor, eat a proper diet, live in comfortable accommodation, and pay a coach to help me with my training.

It’s important for me to keep competing because it’s something I love very much; I inspire a lot of people, and people inspire me
