Help for fire victims in Cyprus - together we can do more!

In recent days, Cyprus has been struggling with the dramatic effects of the fires that hit the Limassol and Paphos regions. In villages such as Alassa, Vouni and Agia Marinouda, the fire consumed houses, fields, orchards and entire farms. Hundreds of people had to leave their homes in a hurry - some lost everything.

As a community of people with ties to Cyprus - living here, holidaying here or simply loving this island - we cannot remain indifferent.

That's why we are organising a collection to help those affected by the fire.

We don't yet know how much we will be able to raise - but every penny matters. The funds collected will be transferred directly to those affected, in the most transparent way possible.

Importantly - we will transfer all the funds through an official channel, designated by the Cyprus authorities.

In this regard, we will ask the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Nicosia to indicate the foundation or institution that is coordinating aid for the fire victims on behalf of the Republic of Cyprus.

Our aim is not only to provide real help, but also to be fully transparent and accountable for every single zloty donated.

We believe that in the face of tragedy, we can be together across all divisions.

We hope that this drop box will be made available in all Cypriot groups for Poles - regardless of who runs them and what their rules are. After all, we are helping not for ourselves - but for those who really need it now.
